Part 1
The Camera in the Living Room
The investigator's voice doesn't shake. Doesn't soften. It just lands.
"This shot is from inside your living room."
Josh Bastion sits down. Screen glow on his face. He's about to watch his own house turn on him.
One camera. Hidden by Josh himself. That's the lens for everything that follows. Every text. Every lie. Every late-night bathroom call. Measured against that shot.
Let's rewind.
Josh works all day. Comes home. Changes diapers. Runs to the store. Helps with the baby. And it's never enough. Not anymore.
"She said it's just the baby," he tells the Cheaters crew. "She said it's rough having a new baby. She seems depressed. But I don't think that's what it is."
He notices things. Texts at 2 a.m. that wake him up. Raney slips to the bathroom. Then outside for a cigarette. He hears her talking on the phone. Low. Quick. Then silence.
He's tired. Not just sleep-tired. Soul-tired. "No matter what I do, it's just not good enough for her anymore. I've had enough. I just can't take it anymore. She's tearing the family apart."
So he calls Cheaters. The show that's been running since 2000. Syndicated. Unflinching. The narrator sets the tone with that unmistakable intro: "I'm Clark Gable and this is Cheaters."
You know the voice. You know the music. Ominous. Pulsing. Like a trailer for a horror film where the monster is your spouse.
And the investigation begins.
Day two. Cheaters detectives set a perimeter around the home Josh shares with Raney. He leaves for work. Hours pass. An unknown SUV pulls into the complex. A man steps out. Approaches the townhome. Disappears inside.
Minutes later, he returns. With a baby seat. A baby. And Raney Bastion.
They drive to a daycare. Drop the baby. Then a coffee shop. Detectives note them holding hands as they cross the parking lot. Grab an outside table. Sip iced coffee. Comfy. Couple-y.
Then back to Josh's home. The man grabs her derriere as they walk inside. Horseplay. Familiarity. Later, he hops in his vehicle and drives away. Leaving Josh to pick up his baby on the way home.
Day five. Intel from Josh. Perimeter around Raney's workplace. The same unknown male—now identified as Kevin Dobbs—pulls up in a white SUV. Raney greets him. Races around to the passenger side.
They're tailed to a restaurant. Detectives perch on the patio. Capture the lunchtime date. One drink. Two straws. A string of sultry kisses.
Then back to the SUV. Dobbs drives her back to work. Parks in an obscure part of the lot. Makes his move. She responds. They make out. She straightens her hair. Says goodbye. End scene.
Day six. This is where the camera in the living room comes in. The one Josh installed. The one Cheaters gave him. Field agents can now see real-time inside the home.

And what do they see? Kevin Dobbs. Already there. Raney and Dobbs grab the baby. Walk to a nearby park. Sit on the swing. Raney holds the baby. Dobbs pushes her gently. Picture-perfect family. Except the husband is missing.
They return. She puts the baby down for a nap. Then a phone call. Josh checks in. Raney snaps. "Quit calling me! I told you I was going to be home when I'm done. I have things I'm doing."
Josh says, "Something's going on. Where you at?"
She says she's going to Radio Shack. For the net. He says he and the kid will wait. She says stop calling. He says love you.
Click.
The irony is a knife. Josh gave them the camera. He installed the key logger. He built the trap. And it catches his best friend, Kevin Dobbs, in his own home. Pushing his wife on a swing. Holding his baby. Playing house.
But the camera doesn't just catch infidelity. It catches something else. Something that will detonate later.

**Spoiler warning for the paternity reveal ahead.**
Because when the footage is reviewed, when the confrontation happens, a question emerges. One that Josh never saw coming. And the answer will break him in ways the affair never could.
But that's later. Right now, Josh is sitting down. The investigator's voice is in his ear. The screen flickers. And his living room—his own living room—is about to become the scene of the crime.
The camera doesn't blink. It doesn't judge. It just records.
And Josh watches.
The Best Friend in the Frame
The camera doesn't blink. It just records. And what it records next is the kind of betrayal that makes you want to throw your TV out the window. Josh Bastion sits in the Cheaters office, staring at a monitor. His best friend for almost 20 years, Kevin Dobbs, is on screen. Kevin. The same guy who told Josh to divorce Raney because she was crazy. The same guy who was supposed to have Josh's back. Now he's got his hands on Josh's wife.
Josh watches the footage. His jaw tightens. He mutters, 'Man, I can't watch this.' But he does. He can't look away. The investigator, Clark Gable, drops the bomb: Clover, the baby Josh has been raising, isn't his. She's Kevin's. Josh's face crumbles. 'What in the (censored)?' It's not a question. It's a gut punch.
Cut to the raid. The Cheaters crew storms the house. Kevin is there, wearing overalls, looking like he just rolled out of bed. Josh charges in. 'You're sick,' he yells. Kevin doesn't flinch. He looks Josh dead in the eye and says, 'That's my (censored) girl, dog.' And then it's on. A brawl erupts. Fists fly. Raney screams. The investigator, Clark, tries to ask why. Why did they do it? But there's no answer. Just chaos. And the camera keeps rolling.
